Good news for all UPSC aspirants! The central govt. has decided not to reduce the upper age limit for Union Public Service Commission Civil Service Exam. Earlier the UPA government was going to lower the age limit. It has been heard from a long time that the govt. would move to reduce the upper age limit. Some leading newspapers and news channels published this news. As a result, many civil service aspirants became upset. But the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has said this good news.

Instead of reducing the upper age limit, the central govt. has already announced that the aspirants of civil service exam who may have lost out due to the changes of pattern of written exam, would get two additional attempts and consequential age relaxation. The UPA government had decided to fix the upper age limit for Un-Reserved (UR) candidates as 26 years, 28 for OBC, 29 for SC/ ST. According to an official of central govt., all the decisions made by previous UPA govt. will be reviewed and processed afresh.
