Full Syllabus, Pattern of Exam for SSC Stenographer (Gr. C&D) Recruitment Exam

Pattern of Exam:

The recruitment will be consisted of written exam and skill test.

Written Exam- It will consist of an objective type question paper. The detailed exam pattern is as follows:

  1. General Intelligence and Reasoning- 50 marks for 5 questions
  2. General Awareness- 50 marks for 5 questions
  3. English Language and Comprehension- 100 marks for 100 questions
Total time duration- 120 minutes or 2 hours.

Skill Test for SSC stenographer post:

After qualifying in written test, shortlisted candidates will be called for a skill test. This will be of qualifying nature, marks in skill test will not be added to total marks obtained by the candidates. Shortlisted candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade-C post and 80 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade-D post. This will be transcribed on computer only. The transcription time is given below-

  • For Stenographer Grade-D: 50 minutes ( English ) / 65 minutes ( Hindi )
  • For Stenographer Grade-C: 40 minutes ( English ) / 55 Minutes ( Hindi )

Syllabus of written test for SSC Stenographer post:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: In this section, questions will be of of both verbal and non-verbal type. Generally questions are asked from arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, discriminating observation, analogies, relationship concepts,  visual memory etc.
  • General Awareness: In this part, questions are asked from History, Geography, Economic scene, Sports,  Culture, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research, Current Affairs etc.
  • English Language and Comprehension: In this section, questions comprise of synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure etc.

  1. need to know about ssc stenographers skill test that whether one needs to directly trancribe the dictated words in computer or after writing the codes in normal words forms in a sheet of paper..DO reply me asap
