Scheme & Syllabus of WBPSC Miscellaneous Service Exam

West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) recruits various posts through Miscellaneous Service Recruitment. The commission has just published official advertisement of Miscellaneous Service Recruitment 2018. Here we are going to share scheme and syllabus of Miscellaneous Service Exam.

Scheme of WBPSC Miscellaneous Service Examination  

The exam will be in three successive stages -

• Preliminary Exam
• Main Exam
• Interview/ Personality Test

The preliminary exam will be objective type and main exam will be conventional type. 

Preliminary Exam : There are total 100 objective questions containing 2 marks each. 

1. General Studies - 75 question (150 marks)

2. Arithmetic -  25 questions (50 marks)

One and half hours are allotted for prelim exam. It is a screening test. Candidates who qualify in this exam will be shortlisted for main exam.

Main Exam : It consists of conventional type questions. Three will be three subjects in this exam-

1. Paper I - English. 150 marks. 1 hour 30 minutes

2. Paper II - Bengali/ Urdu/ Nepali/ Santali. 150 marks. 1 hour 30 minutes

3. Paper III - General Studies & Arithmetic . 100 marks for GS and 50 marks for Arithmetic. 2 hour 30 minutes

Interview/ Personality Test : Candidates who qualify in main exam will be called for interview. The interview contains 100 marks.

Syllabus of WBPSC Miscellaneous Service Exam

1. General Studies (for Prelim & Main Exam) : This part contains general knowledge of different spheres.

2. Arithmetic (for Prelim & Main exam) : Question will be set on the basis of Madhyamik / 10th standard level.

3. English (Paper-I) : 

a) Drafting of a report from points or materials supplied ;

b) Translation from Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali, as the case may be, to

English ;

c) Condensing of a prose passage (Summary/Precis) ;

d) Correct use of words, correction of sentences, use of common phrases, synonyms

and antonyms etc.

4. Bengali/ Urdu/ Nepali/ Santali (Paper-II) :

a) Drafting of a report from points or materials supplied ;

b) Translation from English to Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali/Santali, as the case may be ;

c) Condensing of a prose passage ;

d) Grammar.

Questions for Paper-I and Paper-II will be set on the basis of Higher Secondary / 10+2 level.

WBPSC Miscellaneous Service Recruitment 2018

A very good news for the candidates belong to West Bengal on the eve of New Year! West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has released a official notification of Miscellaneous Service Recruitment Examination 2018 after almost 6 years. It was in 2012 when WBPSC recruited various posts through Miscellaneous Service Recruitment for the last time. After that a new recruitment body was constituted named West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) which recruited various posts. But in this year, the WB Govt. abolished WBSSC. Now WBPSC has to fill up these posts!

Which posts are to be recruited through WBPSC Miscellaneous Service Recruitment Examination 2018

There are more than 20 posts which will be recruited through miscellaneous service exam. The name of the posts are given below-

(7) Assistant Agricultural Marketing Officer, 

(8)Assistant Programme Officer, 

(9) Controller of Correctional Services, 

(10) Inspector of Agricultural Income Tax, 

(11) Consumer Welfare Officer, 

(12) Saving Development Officer, 

(13) Posts in West Bengal Subordinate Labour Service, 

(14) Auditor of Co-operative Societies, 

(15) Assistant Auditor, Board of Revenue, 

(16) Extension Officer, Mass Education Extension, 

(17) Lady Extension Officer, Mass Education Extension, 

(18) Assistant Controller of Correctional Services, 

(19) Investigating Inspector 

(20) Revenue Inspector 

Pay Scale:

For the posts at sl. nos.(1 to 12) (PB–3) Rs.7100-37600/- with Grade Pay Rs.3900/- and

for the posts at sl. Nos.(13 to 19) (PB–3) Rs.7100-37600/- with Grade Pay Rs.3600/- ]. Besides

pay, the posts carry allowances as admissible.

Educational Qualification: A degree from a recognized university.

Age Limit: Between 20 to 39 years as on 01.01.2018.

Application Fees: Rs. 160. No fees are required for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Application Procedure: Candidates are required to apply through online mode of application only. You need to apply through Commission's official website  www.pscwbonline.gov.in or www.pscwbaplication.in.

Commencement of submission of online application : The 3rd January, 2018 from

11:00 a.m.

Closing date for submission of online application : The 24th January, 2018 (12-00

midnight)

Closing date for submission of fees through online : The 24th January, 2018 (12-00

midnight)

Closing date for submission of fees through offline : The 25th January, 2018

The tentative date of WBPSC Miscellaneous Service Examination 2018 (Preliminary) is 3rd March, 2018.

WBSSC Gr D (3rd RLST) 2016 Region wise Vacancy

West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) published on 23rd June, 2017 the result of Gr-D (3rd RLST) 2016 exam. The written exam was held in February-March 2017. WB School Service 2016 Gr D 3rd RLST Result declared

Good News friends! West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has just declared result of Group-D 2016 exam. The 3rd RLST exam for Group C (Clerk) and Group-D were held in March 2017. After almost three months, the exam of written exam has been published.
