Review & Analysis on SSC CGL Tier-II 2014 exam held on 11th & 12th April, 2015

This year, SSC has made a minor change in CGL Tier-II OMR sheet. The portion of writing and darkening of Roll Number, Test Form Number, Ticket Number etc. is on the backside of the OMR Sheet. Others are same as previous year. Now come to question paper. 

ssc cgl tier-2 examQuantitative Ability (Paper-I): This paper was moderate and level is same as compared to previous year (CGL 2013 Tier-II re-exam!). As usual, questions are mixed of easy, moderate and tough. Some questions are very lengthy and time consuming to solve. Even some of them take lot of time to read! Overall the Paper-I was moderate. It is good to attempts 75-80 questions in stipulated time.


English Language & Comprehension (Paper-II): The English paper was easier than that of previous year's question paper. After seeing the question paper, it looks same as CGL 2013 Tier-II exam's paper (not re-exam). The level of questions is quite easy and you need not spend too much time on a question to give the answer. One change in questions of Paper-II has been noticed. In re-arrangement of sentences section, the pattern of questions has been totally changed which leads you to solve them quickly. In average, candidates have attempted around 160-165 questions.


Statistics (Paper-III): The statistics paper for Statistical Investigator post was held on 11th April. The question paper was as usual. Nothing new.

WBSSC has conducted today first time ever CGL exam. Today’s WBSSC CGL 2014 prelim question paper was moderate. There were two sections Group A & B. In group-A, Math and General Intelligence are there and English and General Knowledge are in Group-B. The Group A section was very easy according to the major number of aspirants. There are 30 questions in Group-A and 105 questions in Group-B.


Review & Analysis on WBSSC CGL Preliminary Exam 2014 held on 12.04.2015

Reasoning: No. of questions- 3 from basic level.

Math: 27 questions. The questions of math portion were asked mostly from basic Geometry section. The questions distribution in math section are as follows-

  • Geometry- 10
  • Profit & Loss- 4
  • Allegation & Mixture – 3
  • Simplification – 2
  • Train – 2
  • LCM & HCF- 1
  • Simple & Compound Interest – 2
  • Average- 1
  • Trigonometry – 1
  • Time & Distance-1


General Knowledge including Current Affairs & Computer Knowledge:

There were 3 questions asked from current affairs and 4 from basic computer knowledge section. In GK section, the questions from Economics and state constitution were mainly asked. Rest of the questions were from basic GK level.

English: This section was mainly come up with vocabulary and comprehension. There were 4 comprehensions each of which has 5 questions. There were only 2 Idiom/ Phrases and 2 one word substitution questions.

In average candidates have attempted around 110-120 questions out of 135 questions.

West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) has conducted today the written exam of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2014 recruitment. hikes of daGood News for all central govt. employees and pensioners! Central Government  has hiked today 6 % Dearness Allowance (DA) to all its employees and pensioners. This will benefit around 48 lakh current employees and 55 lakh pensioners.


The decision of DA hike has been taken in today's cabinet meeting headed by the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi. Previously total percentage of DA was 107% after hiking of 7% which was effective from 1st July, 2014. Now after the hike, it has become 113%. It will be effective from 1st January, 2015.

A: If you don't write paper-III exam, then you will not be considered for Statistical Investigator post. But you will get any of the rest of the posts, if you qualify.

A: Well, if you are unable to pass in paper-III, then you will be considered for other posts. SSC will consider you name for another post for which you are eligible.


Q: After qualifying in Paper-III, should I need to provide any documents in favour of statistics paper during interview/ documents verification?

A: During your documents verification, you need to provide your degree/ master level certificates/ marksheet to give a proof that you have studied statistics paper in your college level exam. It is mandatory.

West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has notified that they will distribute TET certificates by hand to the candidates who were qualified in Part-II (OMR Paper) of  12th Regional Level Selection Test (RLST). The certificates will be distributed from from the offices of the concerned Regional School Service Commission. The schedule of distributing of WBSSC 2011 TET certificates has been mentioned on the official website of WB School Service Commission. Candidates have to put their Roll No. to get the schedule. To get TET certificates, candidates are required to bring the following documents-
